Chapel Hill Events

In northeast Akron, named after the Chapel Hill Mall that opened in 1967 and shaped the community for more than fifty years before closing and converting into a business park. The community's character is in transition — about 5,600 residents, 60% non-white, and a third Asian, making Chapel Hill the Akron community with the highest percentage of Asian residents. Roughly 70% of housing is rental, and the area sits at a junction of national retailers and a major highway with strong transit access. Expect a calendar of community gatherings, library events, and immigrant-led cultural programs.
