East Akron Events

Stretches east of downtown between Middlebury and Goodyear Heights with deep ties to the rubber industry. The intersection of Goodyear Boulevard and East Market Street was the commercial anchor for East Akron through most of the 20th century, with the old Goodyear buildings holding a company school, multiple recreation facilities, a theater, a bank, and storefronts. That historic Goodyear campus has been redeveloped as The East End — a 1.4-million-square-foot mixed-use district that now includes more than 100 loft apartments and a Hilton Garden Inn — and the corner is filling back in as a hub again. The calendar pulls from community-association programs, faith-community gatherings, school events, and East End commercial events.
